MONTHLY WRAP-UP – AUGUST 2020

Great month! 10 brilliant books !
This month was really interesting because this was the first time I took part in a readathon.
It was a readathon focused on the fantasy genre called ‘Magicalathon’. So six out of those 10 books were fantasy  and all chosen based on prompts. You first had to take a quiz that sorted you in one of four schools – Royals, Assassins, Sorcerers and Fae.  Based on your school you were given four prompts to choose books from and two extra credit prompts to be taken once you have completed your original four. I can proudly say I completed all six for my school.

Without further ado, here are my Magicalathon prompts and the books I chose

Apart from these six I devoured  The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley,
Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco, The Whisper Man by Alex North  and Good Girl, Bad Blood by Holly Jackson.

Here are my ratings for all 10 books..

A Court of Thorn & Roses by Sarah J. Maas – 3.5/5

A Gathering of Shadows – V.E. Schwab – 3/5

The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune – 5/5

The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow – 3.5/5

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien – 4/5

The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller- 3.5/5

The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley- 3.5/5

The Whisper Man by Alex North – 5/5

Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco – 4/5

Good Girl, Bad Blood by Holly Jackson – 5/5

Detailed reviews of some are already up on the blog. More to come soon!

Have you read any of these? What were your thoughts. Holler back!
